Porsche Inspired Mini Projector
Inspired by the design principles of a Porsche 911 991.2, this mini projector brings a creative sense a class to the entertainment experience.
Directly inspired by the headlights of Porsche, I utilized two main aspects from its headlight design.
The curved lens creates an interesting focal point to magnify and cater the direction of light.
The stacked head lights offered an intriguing vertical set-up.
Ideation
I began to design multiple iterations using the headlights main two characteristics as a guideline.
I knew I wanted to include a additional standing rail and platform. This promotes an adjustable angle for the projector to be guided across.
The projector features a housing composed of two molded plastic halves that enclose its internal components.
A steel front piece incorporates an adjustable lens, while a steel back plate supports the control buttons.
The top assembly is mounted on an aluminum bar that allows it to pivot smoothly along an axis.
This bar is supported by a stable stand that keeps the entire unit level and secure.
Internal Components
The internal components consisted of a circut board that connects to an LED board screwed to a heat sink and a cooling fan. The board projects through three lenses, reflects off of a mirror, and then passes through the optic lens.
